Sports Day was conducted on 13.10.2017 at M.A.Raja Rathinam Stadium. Many sports events were conducted in the play ground. A colourful march past was done by the students. Students performed Cultural Programmes.                 Dr. V.Parthiban, Dean gave the welcome address. Dr.Karunanidhi, Registrar – incharge, University of Madras gave the special address. Chairman Mr.V.Vivekanandan sir spoke about the importance of sports. Secretary madam Mrs.V. Arulmozhi spoke about the importance of Physical Fitness in student’s life. Dr.V.Selvanathan Principal gave the vote of thanks.

              M.Com Student S.Gunasekaran participated in Madras University Divisional (65KG) Body Building tournament held at Kandaswamy Naidu college. He won the second place in Body Building tournament.    

              II B.Com II Sec A.B. Srinivasan participated in State level Fencing tournament held at Kanchipuram Dist. The Match was conducted by sports Authority of Tamil Nadu.  He won the  I st place in Fencing competition.

              II B.Com II Sec A.B. Srinivasan participated in National level tournament held at Namakal.  The Match was conducted by sports Authority of Tamil Nadu.  He won the II place in Fencing competition. 

           M.Com student  Gunasekaran participated in the Body Building Event at Singapore on 26th November which was organized by World Fitness Federation. He won the fourth place in the competition. He will get his placement in Indian Railways after completion of his M.Com. Degree Course.  

    Sports Activities in the Academic Year 2017-2018

                 Various sports competitions were held at different colleges. Our college students proved their skills in various competitions. They were excelled in their skills in chess competition , Badminton , Volleyball .cricket , Football,kabadi,,kho-kho,Body building ,Fencing and taekwondo etc.,. One of our student secured gold medal also.

Summary

1.        On 27^th July chess match was conducted at D.G.V college of Arts and Science, Arumbakkam out of 35 colleges; our college team own the 15^th Position.

2.       Our college men team Participated in Badminton match .It was held on 4 & 5yh August at D.G.V college .Arumbakkam, Chennai.

3.       On 7,8^th August, Our college men team Participated in Ball Badminton. It was held at TNC College of Arts and Science, Kodungaiyur, Chennai.

4.      Our college men team took part in Volleyball match. It was held on 12^th August at MCC College of Arts and Science, Tambaram, Chennai.

5.      On 21^st August cricket match was conducted at Jaya College of Arts and science. Active Participation was made by our students.

6.      On 31^st August, our college men team Participated in Football match at MCC College of Arts and Science, Tambaram, Chennai.

7.       Our College men team was participated in Kabadi Match. It was held on 6^th September at Jaya college of Arts and Science, Chennai.

8.       On 11^th September our college team took part in Kho-Kho match. It was conducted at Sindhi college of Arts and Science, Chennai.

9.       On 23^rd September Gunasekaran, M.Com, I Year secured gold medal in Body building. The competition was conducted at Kandaswamy Arts and Science   College, Chennai.

10.     A.Srinivasan, II B.com, II section. He got gold medal, (i) Place in fencing competition. The match was conducted at Kancipuram district in the month of August.

11.    N.Sathya, III BCA, she got Bronze medal (III Place) Individual taekwondo competition. It was held on 6^th October at Nehru Stadium, Chennai. Our College M.Com student Gunasekaran was selected in International open Tournament of Body Building and he is going to participate in the body building competition which is to be held in Singapore on 24^th November.

 

 Participation by Girls

1.       On 7&8^th August, our college Women was participated in Badminton Match. It was held at D.G.V College of Arts and Science, Arumbakkam, Chennai.

2.       On 11^th August .our college Women team took part in Ball Badminton match. It was conducted at Anna Adarsh college of Arts and Science, Chennai.

3.       On 17^th, 18th  August out of 25 colleges, our college Women team got the 5^th position in chess match. It was held at Krishnaswamy college of Arts and Science and Anna Adarsh college of Arts and Science, Chennai.
