WORKSHOP ON SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME OF BAKERY PRODUCT

Five- Day Skill Development Program on “Bakery Products” conducted by IQAC, PG Department of Commerce and Bachelor of Commerce (Corporate Secretaryship), which was initiated by Capt. Dr. P. Arulmozhichelvan,Principal,Sree Muthukumaraswamy college  in Central Palmgur and Palm Products Institute  Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt of India, Chennai was co-ordinated by Dr.G.Raja Priya, IQAC, Co-ordinator & Head PG Department of Commerce  & Mrs.S.Revathi, Head, Department of Commerce (Corporatee Secretaryship. The program duration was for five days from 30/01/2023 to 03/02/2023. The resource Person Mr. KHANNA, Trainer, in Central Palmgur and Palm Products Institute  Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt of India, Chennai gave the complete training on bakery products.

 The main objective of the event was primarily designed to develop entrepreneurial proficiency among the students to be able to start their bareroot enterprise soon after they complete the training. 

Inaugural Session

          The resource Person Mr.Khanna in his inaugural address, encouraged the students to participate in these types of events to acquire additional skills required for the career apart from the classroom lectures. Finally he congratulated the  students who have registered for his five days skill development program on “Bakery Products”. Finally, the coordinator Dr.G.Raja Priya in her address welcomed the participants, Resource person. In her welcome address he spoke about the importance of an entrepreneur for the students career development.

In the First day, Session – I - Availability of raw material, brand etc, Inputs on tools and eauipments involved, Machinery required etc. Atlast, he teach the students how to prepare Hyderabad Karachi Biscuit, Jeera Salt Biscuit, Almond Biscuit and Sweet Cookies.

In the Second day, Session – II - How to fragment the yeast. And also the students actively involved along with the trainer and make the receipies Bomby Bun, Sweet Bread, Cream Bun, Fruit Rusk, Anarkali (Stuffing Bun), Plain Sponge Cake and Ghee Biscuits.

In the Third day, Session – III  - Puff Pastries like Vegetable Puffs, Egg Puffs, Cream Roll, Bread Pudding (type of Cake Chocolate cake.

In the Fourth day, Session – IV - preparation of Black Forest Cake base, coffee Biscuit or Coconut Biscuit, Paneer roll and Milk Burfi.

In the Fifth day, Session – V  - How to decorate/ Icing of Black forest Cake. He also provide information relevant for the business like loan facility with subsidy, packing, Labelling & Costing of the product, Marketing aspects etc.

During the valedictory Session Mr.Khanna Resource Person gives introductory speech about the skill development training program. Mr. Prabhakaran, principal of the institute Central Palmgur and Palm Products Institute  Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt of India, Chennai gave the information speech regarding the MSME government loan availability to the young entreprenuers.   Then motivational speech was given by Dr.P.Arulmozhichelvan, Principal of Sree Muthukumaraswamy College and also presented the Course completed certificates to the participants.  In the Feedback session many students gave the positive feedback and suggestions for the improvement of skill development of programme.  Finally Mrs.S.Revathi thanked all the dignitaries, participants and other members who are involved in the smooth functioning of the workshop. In this five day skill development training the students have gained practical knowledge how to start the business by obtaining loan facility.  The five days workshop on skill development programme on bakery products completed with the grand success.
