26TH Annual Sports Day – Report 2022-2023

Sree Muthukumaraswamy College had its 26th Annual Sports Day on March 3, 2023. The large college playground is where the event was held. It was a day-long program.The event's main guest was Dr. M.S. Nagarajan, Regional Sports Director, Special Olympics Bharat, New Delhi. He is a person who redefines excellence with every fresh accolade coming his way.

It felt like a celebration in the college with decorations throughout, but notably in the Ground area. The choir's magnificent greeting to the Lord Almighty at the beginning of the day set the tone for the rest of the day. The flame lighting ceremony, in which the torch was carried by students who had excelled in various levels of athletic competition, served as the official start of the sports day event. The March Past from every department students kicked off the sports event.

The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by Anu Priya from II B.com ISM.

Firstly the welcome speech was given by Mrs.R.Anandhy, H.O.D of Mathematical department.Our principal, Capt. Dr. P. Arulmozhichelvan, delivered the presidential address and also honoured our chief guest with a momento and shawl. He gave the students advice on the future and shared his sporting experiences.

Our chief guest Dr.S.Nagarajan spoke about the advantages of various sports and how the energy of aspirant youth may be used to rebuild a country and its glory on the international stage.

Then, Dr. P. Bharathy, our physical director, spoke to the group and read the college's annual report for the academic year 2022–2023.

Students from diverse departments engaged in sporting competitions with one another. Sports including the Javelin Throw, 100m and 200m Runs, 4*100mts Relay, Kho Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Cricket, and others were played at the tournament. The thing is that the bigger sports took place in the preceding week.The cultural festivities then got underway. A culture's festival can reveal much about its magnificence. The youngsters' exceptional talent helped to make the day fantastic.
